Thiru Parameswara Vinnagarm - Sri Vaikundanatha Perumal Temple - Blessing in His Three Postures
Once Bhradwaja Muni was distracted
by an Apsaurus ‐ Gandharava Kanni and a child was born to them. Lord Brahma Devar
got worried that who will take care of the child. Paranthaman and Eswaran had given
him an assurance that they will take care of the child. Paramapathanathan along with
Eswaran came to the pallava kingdom as the hunters and handed over the child to the
Pallava King who had been childless and praying for a child. The child was named
as Parameswara Varman‐ to thank the Lords Paranthanman and Eswaran who
gave him the child to the king. It is believed that the Almighty taught the 18 different arts to Parameswara
Varman in His Standing Posture and on His grand Sitting Posture He made
advises to him as an acharya would do to his disciple and finally got into His Reclining Posture so as to be served by Parameswara Varman as a disciple would do to his
Guru. The Devotees can worship Him in all His three different postures here In this temple.
Once the King named Viroshana
Maharaja in Vidharbadhesam was childless and he prayed towards Kanchi
Kaliasanathar. He got blessed that Dwarapalakas Jayan and Vijayan would born as
children to him and they would be named as Pallavan and Villavan. Later these two
conducted Ashwamedha Yagam and got darshan of Lord Vaikundha Perumal who is
believed to be blessing Darshan even today as He has done to Pallavan and Villavan.
The temple is a 3 tiered one in which in the first tier the Almighty is Blessing
as Vaikundanathan in His Sitting Posture, in the second tier as
as Ranganathar along with Sridevi and Bhoodevi in His Reclining Posture and in the third tier as Paravasudevan in His Standing Posture.
